A Year in Books

I’ve set a pretty ambitious reading goal this year–52 books–and for the record, I reserve the right to start counting board books in December if it becomes necessary.

Rather than choosing a reading list challenge like I’ve done in previous years, this year I’m  going to start by whittling down the unread books I already own.

It turns out that I’ve got dozens of volumes sitting on my shelves. Lonely. Unread, but laden with good intentions. Well, this year the bookshelves are getting a purge–why exactly do I own The Complete Works of E.A. Poe?–and in order to determine what stays and what goes, I’m going to make sure I’ve actually read everything that’s on them.

  1. Lady Midnight, by Cassandra Clare
  2. Thirty Million Words, by Dana Suskind
  3. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo
